Our Story

Jorivalex started the way a lot of good things do: around a kitchen table, with two people who couldn't stop talking about animals.

We're Lisa and Petra, the two partners behind Mijnhof VOF, the company that runs Jorivalex. We officially opened our doors on 1 January 2022 from Buinerveen, a quiet village in Drenthe where animals are part of everyday life. Horses graze in the fields, dogs follow their owners to the bakery, and almost every house seems to have a cat on the windowsill. Growing up and living around that, it never felt strange to us that animals deserve the same care and attention we give ourselves.

In the beginning we focused on horses. Our very first products were horse care items and stable supplies, chosen because we knew what worked and what didn't from experience. Our customers soon started asking whether we could also help with their dogs, cats, rabbits and birds. They wanted one place they could trust for all of their animals, so we listened. Bit by bit, Jorivalex grew into the pet and animal supply store it is today.

We're still a small team of two, and honestly, we like it that way. It means we know our products, we read every message ourselves, and we care about every order that leaves us. Before something is added to our shop, we ask a simple question: would we use this for our own animals? If the answer is no, it doesn't make the cut.

Today you'll find food, treats, toys, beds, grooming products and everyday care essentials for animals of all shapes and sizes. Whether you share your home with a playful puppy, an independent cat or a horse who rules the paddock, we hope you'll find what you need here.

Thank you for choosing Jorivalex and for supporting a small business that genuinely loves what it does. Your animals are in good hands.

Warm regards,
Lisa and Petra
